Born from the collaboration between Caminade, Motion Engineering, and CIXI, the CamiGo is a cargo tricycle entirely made in the Pyrénées-Orientales region of France. This tilting three-wheeler is driven like a bike, merging craftsmanship, cutting-edge electric drivetrain technology, and a bold vision for active, sustainable logistics.
At the heart of the CamiGo lies our PERS: no chain, thus no traditional limits of mechanical transmission. With a total power output of 2700 W (two CIXI PERS hub motors of 1350 W each) and a maximum torque of 220 Nm, the vehicle is powered by a 48 V LFP battery with a capacity of 1440 Wh, providing up to 70 km of range. The regenerative braking system recovers around 11% of energy under real-world conditions, and an electric reverse gear makes urban maneuvering easier.
Designed for everyday utility
With a payload capacity of 204 kg, the CamiGo offers serious utility for last-mile delivery, gardening services, or waste collection. Its chainless CIXI pedaling system enables a smooth, progressive tilt, freeing the vehicle's architecture from traditional mechanical constraints. This, combined with a tilting front end and Motion Engineering's anti-dive suspension, allows it to lean naturally into corners and remain stable on uneven ground. The PERS system also improves handling and simplifies maintenance, while regenerative braking and electric backpedal braking reduce mechanical stress and significantly decrease brake pad wear, a critical benefit in demanding cargo bike operations.
As Brice Epailly, founder of Caminade, explains:
“The PERS electric drivetrain allowed us to improve the handling of our two-wheel-drive tricycle while simplifying its maintenance. The motor mapping developed by CIXI, especially around regenerative braking, significantly increases its range.”
Local production, global impact
The CamiGo’s chassis is entirely manufactured in Caminade’s workshop in Ille-sur-Têt, reflecting over a decade of experience in custom titanium bike frames. This local-first approach supports regional industry, reduces the vehicle’s carbon footprint, and ensures full traceability and quality control.
Already adopted by professional fleet operators like Toutenvélo and Sud Roussillon, the CamiGo is proving that utility, sustainability, and riding pleasure can go hand in hand.
